ACTIVE CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION
PUTNAM COUNTY, TN—On Sunday, March 29, PCSO was made aware of a partially decomposed
body, found by a group of hikers, near Monterey, at the Eastern end of the county.
PCSO Deputies and Investigators and currently on scene. The investigation is ongoing, details will be
published when available.
Sheriff Farris said, “We are on the scene with a dead body. Our first order of business is identifying the
individual, but this is a crime scene and an active, ongoing investigation. We are looking into what
exactly happened to this individual and looking to identify this individual as soon as possible. Our
Investigators are diligently looking back at previous missing persons cases from the past weeks and
months from this county and the entire state, as well as exploring any and all other avenues that can lead
to the identification of this person.”
