AGGRAVATED BURGLARY AND VANDALISM ARREST IN PUTNAM COUNTY

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN—On January 18, 2026, PCSO responded to a reported burglary at a residence
located in Putnam County, TN.

Detectives made contact with the victim, Benjamin Shipley, who stated he left his residence at approxi-
mately 8:00 PM on January 17, 2026, to meet with friends. Later that evening, Mr. Shipley received

multiple phone calls from his ex-wife, Myra Shipley, whom he had not spoken with in several months.
Mr. Shipley did not answer the calls.
When Mr. Shipley returned home later that night, he discovered that a brick had been thrown through
the rear window of the residence. Mr. Shipley said that Myra Shipley unlawfully entered through the
broken window without his consent and took his dog.
Myra Shipley has previously been booked into the Putnam County Jail on two separate occasions. She
was booked in 2019 for Evading Arrest, Driving Under the Influence, and Vandalism, as well as in 2023
for Vandalism.
Myra Shipley was arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Vandalism. She has a bond set
at $41,000 and a court date of February 21, 2026.
