Donna Draper Francis
Cookeville, Tennessee • Age 83
Donna Draper Francis, age 83, of Cookeville, passed peacefully from this life on November 29, 2025. Born on August 20, 1942, she was the devoted wife of the late Dr. William C. Francis, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, family, and service. Donna was a fun-loving woman who cherished laughter, especially when shared with her friends and family.
A cherished mother, Donna is survived by her three sons: William Clark Francis, Jr., James Scott Francis, Sr. (Sherry Delaney), and Douglas Lee Francis (Debby). She was the proud grandmother of Emily Maxwell, Leanne Humphrey (Cody), Ashley Golden (Josh), Hayley Crooks (Stephen), William Francis (Sabrina), and James Francis (Marissa). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Lana Sliger, Jacob Rodriquez, Raeleigh Humphrey, Beau Humphrey, Boone Humphrey, Forrest Francis, and Barett Francis. Donna is also survived by her brothers William L. Draper (Joyce), Kenneth Draper, and Paul Draper (Karen); and by her lifelong friend, Judy Furman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Madge Draper, and her brother Mark Draper.
Donna’s life was marked by resilience, devotion, and a deep love for the people around her. Raised in a close-knit family, she learned early the values of loyalty, hard work, and caring for others-virtues she carried throughout her lifetime. Those qualities guided her through every season of her life as she built a warm and welcoming home, raised her sons, and supported Dr. Francis through his medical career. Donna approached each chapter with strength, compassion, and a steady confidence rooted in her love for her family.
Known for her warmth, energy, and unmistakable personality, Donna brought joy to every room she entered. She loved gathering with family and friends, sharing stories, and finding humor in the ordinary moments of life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she celebrated each milestone of their lives with pride and delight. Her lifelong friendship with Judy Furman remained a constant source of laughter, support, and treasured memories spanning decades.
The family extends a very special thank you to the staff of Heritage Pointe Senior Living, whose kindness, compassion, and loving care brought comfort and dignity to Donna in her final season of life.
Above all, Donna lived with a steadfast faith. She trusted God through every season-through challenges, through joy, and through the countless simple blessings that made up the everyday beauty of her life. As her earthly journey came to a close, she stepped into the eternal peace promised in Christ, reunited with those who went before her.
