Jax Leatherwood Named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week

The Southern Conference (SoCon) named Jax Leatherwood the conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 29, after a career day against Wofford at Wofford.

Leatherwood helped lead the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to a come-from-behind victory over the Terriers.

He went 38-of-46 for 427 yards, while throwing five touchdowns and a long of 59. His 38 completions, 427 passing yards and five touchdowns all marked new career-highs for the veteran signal-caller. His 427 yards also rank third in program history for single-game passing yards.

Connecting with 12 receivers against Wofford, he went a perfect 9-of-9 with Eric Weatherly, who finished with 100 yards and two of Leatherwood's five TDs. 10 of his 12 receivers hauled in multiple passes while four caught four or more.

Three of his five touchdowns came in the final quarter of action, helping the Golden Eagles outscore the Terriers 21-3. He went 15-of-18 for 143 yards in the fourth quarter.
